What is the best character meal at Disney?

My daughter is 5. She loves Mickey and Pluto. She does not really care for Winnie the Pooh or any of the Disney Princesses. I was considering the breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Any suggestions? What is the best character meal at Disney?
I agree that Chef Mickey's might be the best choice for you and your daughter. As of right now they are serving only breakfast and dinner, but I'm hearing from sources that they may add lunch sometime mid to late summer. Both breakfast and dinner are buffets at Chef Mickey's.

A couple other options to conisider would be The Garden Grille at Epcot, in The Land pavillion in Future World. This restaurant features dinner only, and it's unique in that Mickey, Pluto and Chip n Dale are dressed in their farmer outfits.

Also, 'Ohana at the Polynesian stars Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. The characters are there only at breakfast, not lunch or dinner. This can be fun because Stitch is up to his usual antics. Breakfast is served "family style".

EDIT: To the answerer who recommended Liberty Tree Tavern. It was a good characater meal in it's day, but Liberty Tree Taven no longer features characters as of Jan 5 of this year.
I would say they Crystal Palace. The Crystal Palace has Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet at every meal. Every 30 minutes there is a parade that the kids can join in that walks around the restaurant.

Some other good places to eat are Chef Mickey's, The Tusker House, and Cinderella's Royal Table. What is the best character meal at Disney?
Polynesian Resort has Ohana Character Breakfast every morning. Your daughter (and you) will get to see Lilo and Stitch, and her favorites ~ Pluto and Mickey. It's served family style and you eat the usual eggs, waffles, meats, breads, fruit and more for breakfast.

It's a good place to eat and right on the Monorail so you can head to Magic Kingdom. Plus visiting the Polynesian is a nice treat.

p.s. make reservations as soon as you know your dates.
For your daughter's choices - Definitely Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom (Don't for get to make reservations.) This is a dinner where bowls of different items are brought to the table and this is also where my son got most of his autographs. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale are there. Seems like one year, a Donald may have slipped in? Not sure but the others are pretty standard visitors. They walk around the restaurant individually so every little while a new character is visiting your table.

You Should Love It.

Have fun - We leave in 9 days - Can't hardly wait. What is the best character meal at Disney?
you got it! :)

chef mickey's is THE BEST character meal in my opinion.

mickey, pluto, minnie, donald, and goofy come around the tables. you can take pics with them and have them sign autographs and they come around a good 3 times while you're there so don't worry if you miss any of them while you're getting your food cuz you'll catch them next time they come around.
For the classic Disney Characters, our favorite is Donald's Breakfastosaurus. We have always had great food, service and character interaction. Wish I could say the same about our experience at chef Mickey's, but the food, service and interaction there were absolutely horrible.

ETA: to correct one of the below answers: Liberty Tree Tavern is no longer a character meal. The last Character dinner there was Jan 4, 2009
