We are planning to take a vacation to disney world over the summer and i wanted some advice on how to get the best deals possible. There will be 6 of us going, 3 adults, 2 teens, and a 1 yr. old. The best deals are available through WDW and authorized travel agents when there is a special promotion such as free dining or pay for 4 stay for 7. Currently neither one is open for booking. The last day to book the pay for 4 stay for 7 was Sunday.
You can check mouse savers or the disney website for specials. Typically the dates for free dining are released in mid April.
We are hoping to go late august (last week). This time and through september is when it is the least crowded! we went there in september before and the longest we waited in line was 30 minutes. THis would be the ideal time to go. Also, if you wait until mid april, they announce the free meal plan!!! This is what we want to do. With the meal plan, you get one snack, one counterside meal, and one sit down meal a day! if you bok after they announce this, yiou cut out the entire cost of food! It is an amazing deal. You could wait to book, or book now and then when they announce it later, they add it on. THis is really the best way to go! Watch the Disney site for promotions - go on their website and subscribe to get updates. If you belong to AAA - check with them. You will likely need to get a Villa or a cabin at Camp Wilderness as most rooms on Disney property only accommodate 4. It will be better to be on site so you have a cool place to retreat too in the heat of the day. (I would find a sitter for the 1 year old and leave him/her home - while the child is free - taking care of a baby in the heat and lines will be a big chore for something they will likely not remember or be afraid of).

Disney is a freaking money pit, you will never get a good deal. Unless you are a Florida resident...we always go places cheaper than all you "out of towners"
