How much money to eat at disney for 7 days?

2 adults and 2 children (3 and 1) are going to Disney World Oct1-8, 2010. We are staying in our Timeshare which has 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen. We will eat Breakfast each day at the Timeshare. Lunch will be trickey. Can we take backpacks to disney parks with water and snacks in them? Dinner we would like to eat out a few nights. Any suggestions. Total money needed? How much money to eat at disney for 7 days?
Yes, you can take food and bottled water into the parks; there are a few restrictions---coolers/backpacks can't have wheels, and must be smaller than 24" (61 cm) long x 15" (38 cm) wide x 18" (46 cm) high. You can't take food that requires heating or glass containers (except for baby food.)

How much you spend on food is up to you--generally a counter-service meal is around $10--$11 with a drink, kid's meals are around $5. You can see Disney menus online. If you ate 1 meal like that per day in the parks, 2 adults and 1 kid's meal would be around $25 or, $175 for 7 days. Of course that depends if you want soda with every meal, can split the kids meal and supplement with snacks, etc. I do suggest trying at least one of the restaurants in Epcot. Lunch is usually cheaper than the dinner menu. Most of the pavilions have a counter-service restaurant too, so you can try the cuisine without a full sit-down expensive meal. I like the ones in Japan, Morocco, and Norway, but not everyone digs hummus or salmon and egg sandwiches.

Restaurants around Orlando offer some good bargains. How much you spend is again up to you, an all-you can eat buffet at the Ponderosa will cost much less than one with crab legs and lobster.
You may bring food into the park. However, I believe they only allow food that is homemade, so don't try to bring in McDonalds; you'd need to wrap the burgers in your own containers. I know this because A) i've been there and B) I work at an amusement park at home, and parks aren't allowed to permit other business's food inside.

Just in case! Call the parks and ask first; some parks may not allow it, or only allow a certain amount of food. Also, I advise you bring water bottles of your own, since buying drinks gets expensive. I'd avoid buying candy/ice cream and such if you want to save cash. If you have small children, it will be messy, and give them a sugar high and a headache later.

If you plan on eating fast-food at the parks, allocate $10 per person, per meal; that will cover the food and drinks. For restaurants, do your homework before you go to the park; all the restaurant information is on the Disney Website. Some restaurants are roughly $20 per person, while some are up to $60 per person.

If you have small children, reserve seats NOW for character dining, such as Cinderella's royal table and the Crystal Palace. You need to reserve seats NOW because the popular restaurants are often booked solid. So you can't expect to sit down if you are a walk-in.How much money to eat at disney for 7 days?
Eat a nice huge breakfast in your room. When my family went we ate a big breakfast and only had a little snack for lunch. Yes you can bring food into the parks. This works better if your bringing a stroller for your kids: buy a case of water and leave it in your room, Every morning you can put ice in a cooler and throw in a few water bottles and just throw the cooler in the basket under the stroller. Saves you from buying a water for $2.50 a bottle and from carrying a cooler around the park. If your planning on eating fast food every night, about $10-$12 a person should work. If you want to have a few nice sit down meals they are gonna cost more. You should look on the disney website for each restaurants price range. My family also learned that at most sit down meals you can plate share. Children 3 and under can share the food the parents order.
Yes you can bring snacks and water bottles but as others have said there are some restrictions. As for eating it varies from place to place. Lunch and Dinner can be from 10$ or less to 50$ or more. Depending on going to a restaurant that you just walk into and you are seated almost immediately or you have to make reservations, which you usually need to plan months ahead. When i went in mid summer 2008 I got a book called Pass Porter's: Walt Disney World. This book covers planning, where to stay eating all the parks (including maps) and more. There are many other books like this that you can probably get at your local bookstore. I hope this helps. How much money to eat at disney for 7 days?
We bring fast %26amp; easy breakfast:

Eat a good breakfast at the timeshare

bring snacks-- yes you can bring food in the park but then you have to carry it around and/or rent a locker + keep it cool. We bring easy stuff like nuts, beef jerky, popcorn, fruit %26amp; pudding cups, etc. And we bring individual package drink mixes to pour into water cups.

You don't need to bring water, you can get those free at the snack bars, just ask (not bottled though). It's a great way to save money and lighten your load.

We usually skip lunch and just snack because we're so into everything, then go for an early dinner.

You can get a meal for $9 or so (not including drink) at the cheapest restaurants.... with the age of your kids, you can probably split meals, too... like we split a turkey leg, or a personal pizza %26amp; salad at Pinocchio's Village Haus. Then we just snack on the way home.

Sometimes we bring those little lunchbox-size coolers and just stop on the way to the park at a supermarket and get some chicken pieces ready-made and a bag of biscuits and a bag of baby carrots, it's a regular picnic. There are tables you can sit at all over.
Here are some tips for saving money on food:

1. Eat breakfast in your room: Buy some Pop Tarts, breakfast bars, ect and keep them in your room.

2. Avoid late night snacks on property: Like the previous tip, buy some sodas, water, chips and keep them in your room. Doing this will save you time and money by not having to walk down to the food court.

3. Tables In Wonderland: If you are not on the Dining Plan buy the TIW card this will give you discounts on most meals as well as allow you to valet park for free.

4. If you can carry it, bring it: Disney allows you to bring outside food and drinks into the park. Pack some bottles of water in you backpack.

5. Eat Wisely: I suggest two meals per day. A late brunch and an early diner. If you have a quick Pop Tart in your room, make a late breakfast reservation, then eat at one of the last lunch sitting you should be fine. The advantage is that by eating a late lunch you pay lunch prices for what is usually the same menu as the diner.

6. Make ADR鈥檚 early: One of the worst things that can happen is that you pay the money for the dining plan then can鈥檛 eat at restaurants that you like. As soon as you book your trip, book you鈥檙e dining reservations. In fact, I would book the restaurants and then the trip.
I would go shopping at a walmart or something down there before you go. Bring packed lunches and waters to the park. You can reuse your water bottles when you're in the park. If anything, I would bring roughly about 500 for food. In the park food, pop, water, and everything is ten times more expensive then what you would pay for outside the parks.
$9.00 per person -per meal.
