How much money should you take on vacation to Disney world?

My hushband and I are taking are sons who are six and 1 and half to disney in june. We have already paid for a condo and bought all our tickets. We will be going June 15-20. We will try to eat out only once while we will be down there, and cook for the rest of the time. How much money should we take for the trip? We need to pay for gas, food,etc. we leave 600 miles away...How much money should you take on vacation to Disney world?
As much as possible. It's not just the food that's expensive in the parks. Here's a little tip, too: If you're NOT staying on the property, and not taking any sort of shuttle, DON'T park in the gigantic lots immediately adjacent to any of the parks. Park at Downtown Disney (which is just a big shopping center on the property, but outside the parks) and catch one of the Disney busses into the parks. They run like every 10 minutes, and it's a lot easier to find your car later.



Remember - it will be HOT and HUMID in the summer. Wear comfortable shoes.



I love Disney World. I grew up nearby and went every chance I got. I now live more than 800 miles away and that's the only part of Florida I miss.

I would take about $1,000 with me, or on the debit whatever. Budget about $200 or plus for gas, buy your food where you are and take it down with you. Believe it or not the food is expensive there. Also contact the visitor鈥檚 center and ask them for their FREE travel guide it has all kinds of info and COUPONS for restaurants which saves you a ton of cash. Take sandwiches and stuff to eat lunch out in the lot, it cost a ton of money to eat in the park. Take water bottles that you can fill up this saves you cash. Don鈥檛 buy silly things in the park; pick one or two items that you want. Stay away from t-shirts and the hats they cost a lot of money and you can find them at retail outlets. Check websites for coupons, and use them as much as you can. Prep you meals a head of time to save space and well time. If you eat lunch at the car and only eat dinner out and use coupons you should be able to eat out at least two times. It is a vacation and with planning and thrifty spending you can have a great time. It sounds like you are driving so the most important thing I can tell you is check the spare. Trust me. Also don鈥檛 buy things like soda along the way take them with you this saves cash. Good luck and have a great time!
