How can I can the cheapest Disney World Vaycay?

Well, I want to go to Disney World in March. But I have no idea how to plan a cheap vacation. I know we want to take the bus and we want to stay at the Howard Johnson for a week. But we need spending money, food money, tickets...

How can I plan a week long trip to Disney World and enjoy all the attractions for a great deal with money left in my pockets? How can I can the cheapest Disney World Vaycay?
Heres the best way I have found. First, stay on Disney property, second, book through Disney. Take a look at the Disney website, www.disney.go.com and get some prices for the time you want to go to WDW, try the value resorts, I like Pop Century a lot. Then, call Disney to book your stay and ask about any specials going on, they sometimes have unadvertised specials. The last special I heard about was 7 nights for 4 at a value resort for $1600.00, thats your room and park admission. You can add the Disney Dining plan to save some money on food also. Food will be your biggest expense, Figure $50.00 to $75.00 a day for food. Save money by eating breakfast at the resort food court, light breakfast before you go to the parks and unless your on the dining plan eat counter service most meals or food court. There are a lot of benefits to staying on property like early entry and parks open late, the price will be competitive with off property hotels/motels and you wont have to travel to WDW then around the property, you just walk out of your resort and get on the bus. Plus Disney's serivice is great. Also, the more days you stay the cheaper it gets, 4 people to a room will cut your cost quite a bit, $1600.00 devided by 4 is only $400.00 per person room and tickets then add $400.00 to $500.00 for food and snacks your only looking at $800-900 per person, easy to do, then everything else is fun money.
If you fly and stay at Disney they have Magical express, for the bus try mears, they are the biggest outfit in town. do a yahoo search for mears orlando and you will find the website.

You can also check mousesaver.com or mousesavers.com, I can't remember which one it is. It helped me plan as a single mom take my kids.
The good the bad and the ugly...

its not cheap to go to disney but there are things you can do to make the trip less expensive. but there are factors you have to take into consideration due to convenience and gas prices. there is one major desicion, each with pros and cons. staying on or off property.

Staying on property:

Pros

1- you get free transportation between all the disney parks and guest areas. so you could go to the magic kingdom or downtown disney or either of the two water parks.

2- you will save on gas and parking since you will not have to drive

3- on certain days and certain parks, you will be able to either go in early (usually about an hour) or stay late. and that extra hour in the morning makes a huge difference.

4- you can have the stuff you buy at the parks can be sent to your room.

5- because of the constant, free transportation you can take breaks in the middle of the day and come back later.

6- they have nice hotels with good service. they are clean and comfortable.

Cons:

1- they cost more per day (but if you don't have to drive or pay for parking...)

2- you might spend most of your day away from the park and only use your room to crash at the end of the day... so you might not care how nice it is.

Off Property

Pros:

1- it cost less per day.

2- you can sometimes get a better hotel (three stars over two) for the same amount of money.

3- if you are going somewhere other than disney, you can pick a hotel that is more in the center of everything.

Cons:

1- although less expensive, they can be far away.

2- some offer free shuttles to the parks but they are usually at a set schedule and will start after the parks open and will stop running before the parks close. so you might not spend as much time at the parks as you would like.

3- if you want to be able to get there when you want and leave when you want you would have to drive. but then you have to pay $11 dollars per day to park plus gas. not to mention that at the end of the day when you have been walking all over the place, you really don't want to have to drive again.

there are a couple of things you can do to cut cost regardless of where you choose to stay.

1- Have a budget. but not just for food but for souvenirs. that is were most people go nuts and spend way too much.

2- Bring your own snack and drinks to the hotel. IF they have vending machine, they are usually overpriced. Going to the supermarket is cheaper.

3- Bring in some snacks (but not whole meals) into the park. Theme park food is expensive and adds up. beware things that don鈥檛 keep well if not refrigerated.

that is all i can think of. hopefully thing will help. How can I can the cheapest Disney World Vaycay?
AAA offers fantastic discounts if you are a member. Also, check out this website:

http://www.easybreezyplanning.com

There you can sign up for a free Disney E-newsletter, read up on fun tips and advice, watch fun Disney movie previews, purchase discounted Disney park merchandise and receive assistance with planning your Disney vacation! Have a wonderful trip!
Book an actual Disney Vacation (but not through their site). Use a Disney Specialist Travel Agent. Ours generally saves us $500 to $1500 off of the Disney website. We use Small World Vacations (found on www.mousesavers.com) .

USE THE MEAL PLAN! Food at the parks is EXPENSIVE, and there is no way to pop out of the park and eat at Taco Bell. The meal plan allows for one sit down meal (appetizer, entree, drink %26amp; dessert), one counter service meal (entree/combo, drink %26amp; dessert) and one snack (popcorn, ice cream, bottle of soda), per night of your stay. We used this, and it was more food than we could eat!!! And there is not a limit to what you get on the menu. For example, we paid $150/day for our family of 5 to have the meal plan (prices have gone up a little, but not too bad). We went to dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe, and our bill was $350! We did not have to pay a THING, not even the tip, as it is included in the plan. So, we saved $200 on that meal, and ate our counter service %26amp; snack for free.

You will not save $$ staying at the HoJo, as it is usually more than Disneys value resorts, and close in price to their moderate resorts. Plus, you don't get early entry or after hours park entry (a HUGE benefit)

Before you decide on the bus, do some comparrison shopping on the airlines. They are not always as high as you think, especially if you are more than 21 days out. Southwest %26amp; US Air usually have the best deals. If you use an Orbitz or Expedia, they will not show Southwest prices.

I have listed some EXCELLENT resources below. Enjoy your trip!
First hotels are usually cheaper during the week, monday through thursday. Food at Disney is rather expensive so if you can eat off property do so. If you can bring your own snacks and water, in your backpack (will not allow coolers) that would be a good idea.
