Any advice for disney channel open casting calls? im going to the one in virginia and if anyone has ever gone to one please let me know what happened and anything i should know? any acting tips, this is my first audition? What kind of monologue do they give you at disney channel open casting calls?
I don't know Disney's procedure exactly - but I've never heard of a casting call that gives you a monologue. You are expected to have your own monologue memorized, rehearsed and ready to show them. (At the professional level, you'll need several ready to go, ranging from classical to modern, dramatic to comedic. At an audition for NYU, the auditioner asked "What else have you got?" to anyone with some talent... and would do that three or four times. If the actor didn't know more than one monologue, they were obviously not taking the craft seriously enough to get into that program.)

One thing that they may do at an audition is give you "sides" - a couple of pages from the script of the show they're auditioning for, and have you read one part, usually with a bored assistant reading the other part. That's cxalled a "cold read" - and there's more than a few techniques to learn to do it well.
