I have some friends who are committed to a disney trip because their child's cheer squad won a competition. Their cheer committee organization was supposed to pay for almost everything but it was discovered about 4 weeks before the competition that someone was embezzling money so that left all the parents in a lurch. Now having to pay for everything for the competition at disney. Know any ways to save while there. The room is already booked and they have to stay inside the park for the competition. How to eat cheap at disney world and I mean if your dirt poor?
How sad, that someone would embezzle money from a group like this. I hope there's a special hot place reserved for them in the next life...
All that aside, yes, Disney DOES allow visitors to bring food into the parks...I've done it! Bags are searched at the entrance gate, and no mention is ever made about food in the bags! So tell your friends to pack sandwich fixings, granola bars, etc. Either bring them from home, or buy them from a local grocery store when they arrive in Orlando. Most rooms at the resorts have refrigerators in them, which is helpful.

And I hope something really good happens for your friends, and that their child's cheer squad has a terrific trip.
Check out Garden Grocer; I have heard good things about them. They can order food and have it delivered to their hotel and pick it up when they check in. That way they can pack their meals to take with them to the parks. Be respectful of the park and they will not mind if you bring food in. If they have a room that has a fridge they can store perishables, such as milk for cereal in the mornings and deli meat to bring sandwiches to the park for lunch. Also, remember they will have access to the microwave %26amp; toaster in their resort cafeteria, so they can plan meals out of what can be made in those devices. I went once with a suitcase full of food and saved a ton of money eating econo meals. Also, they will needs lots of water, but they water at Disney tastes yucky if you are not used to it. Suggest that they all bring those drink packets to go to take to the parks. You can fill your water bottle up at any fountain, add the powder packets and you won鈥檛 be able to taste the water at all.How to eat cheap at disney world and I mean if your dirt poor?
Bring your own food or buy kids meals. The meals at Disney are large so a kids meal should be fine. My wife does that went we go. But listen don't kid yourself Disney is not a cheap place to go you need to save some money.
Try to have a fundraiser to raise as much moola as you can. Put your situation out there and hope for help.
Most meals, even at the walk up counters are large enough for two, especially if you want to try some of the neat snacks at WDW.
And as a couple of answers have said, you can absolutely take some food into the parks with you. A small cooler is okay, no glass I don't think.
As a last thought, contact WDW and speak to guest services. Explain your group's situation and see if they offer to help out in any way. Disney is very generous. The parks are expensive to enter, but, the organization has a really big heart. It is worth a shot. Don't lie to them, just explain your situation. Good luck. How to eat cheap at disney world and I mean if your dirt poor?
Without a rental car and being able to venture out to a local grocery store your kinda stuck in "Fantasy Land". If you were able to leave Disney property then you can grab some lunch meat, chips, and some fruit; pack a backpack for the day and it'll save you some cash for sure.
i would pull a classic Ghetto move, and bring my own food/snacks/drinks. i would sneak in allot of cheap snacks from Wall-Mart. thats how i always save money when i go to the movies, and just about anywhere else i go that doesn't allow outside food! lol
pack ur meals. u can go to a grocery store in orlando. or pack food from home. going out to eat is expensive, especially in orlando because they KNOW that u didnt bring food and ur gonna have to buy. SO be smart. and pack.
Certain resorts have room service that you can call and order things like pizza. Disney World also offers many neat and unique fast-food restaurants you can eat at. Have a great time!
you can take small coolers in there is also a burger king close by they have a dollar menu
top ramen before the meet, maybe bring some light snacks during the trip....fast food is always cheap, sneak some of that in the park...
If you're that poor you shouldn't be at disney world unless you're working.
Bring a lunch and store it in one (or more) of the lockers available inside the park :]
Take some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in a purse.
Well that's when you ask yourself, would I rather roast duck or fried mouse today? I think you know what I mean lol!
Bring food from home, or buy food somewhere cheap while they're there.
buy some local food and bring it with you.
bring some food from home.
OK, first get snacks like bars, cup a soup, crackers, instant oatmeal in your bags when fly, they are small and allowed in check ins. Use coffemaker in your room for hot water to prepare soups and oat meal or if it is value hotel, get hot water in food court, it is free. Next, they sell bread(2 slices) for 69C, use toaster in food court to make toasts, butter, jelly, honey is free, cream cheese 50C. Nice for breakfast. Get a refillable mug to get as many drinks as wanted, get one and share, really saves money. In parks, order kids meals, they are smaller but enough for 1 person or ger a double burger, buy extra bun(usually 69C as well but some places charge more, just ask before you buy), split burger and use complimentary toppings(not every place as well) to create your burger. Get as many toppings as you want, some people even make salads out of them. Some people buy just bun and make vegetable burger, but it is not filling at all, but possible. Refill bottle at any drinking fountain or ask for ice at any food place(free). Do not take PB on a plain, it will ring and bags will be searched. It sold at food courts as well. Bring granola bars into parks(allowed) for quick snacks. Share ice cream. Have fun.
I always say karma is a B!T@H, and those embezzling folks will get theirs.
...Anyways, well, first here is a list of all the menu prices throughout all of WDW http://www.allears.net/menu/menus.htm ...so they can look and see what they're up against as far as the prices go (FYI: Every person of all ages is allowed to purchase a child's meal which can help cut the costs). Secondly, some good advice from the others to take their own food. Peanut butter, bread, chips, fruit, and juice boxes store well in the hotel room without any refrigeration. Disney allows you to bring your own drinks and food (as long as it's NOT in glass container and as long as it's not in a cooler, otherwise you'll have to pay for a locker...so just stick 'em in a backpack instead). But, on the other hand, who wants to have to pack up all that food and haul it to the parks every single day...not me...no thank you.. Also, Disney is great at giving out free cups of ice water at the food courts...when they go to EPCOT, there's place called "club cool" just next to the huge water fountain, there they can taste test sodas from around the world for free....Here is another website to check out for making the almighty dollar stretch to it's max http://www.disneyonadime.com/food.php .
Okay, how to make it count before the big trip...The first time we went to Disney I was a poor, penny-pinching single mom. BUT... I was determined to take my son and have a fantastic time! ...So, in order to save up for our trip, I got a big jar and labeled it "DisneyWorld!" ...all my spare change went into it. From dimes underneath the couch to the loose change hanging around in my purse...it went in the jar. We did a yard sale...not only did I get rid of unwanted junk and old clothes accumulating in our home, but of course we got a good amount of extra spending money for - once again - Disney! For a few months we did not buy any fast food or dine out...we just ate thrifty food at home. Well, our strategy worked and we were able to scrounge enough cash to enjoy a great vacation. ...and I'm so glad we did...memories that will never be forgotten. ...Well it's years later, I'm now married so finances are a little stronger, but we still do the big money jar to save up for our upcoming trips...it helps a lot!
To sum it up...if they try to save up as much as they can from now until the day they leave for their trip they should be able to manage...where there's a will, there IS a way.
They don't allow you to bring in any outside food or drink so if you are going to try that bring a big purse and hide the stuff on the way bottom and put normal things on top of your purse... make it look like there isn't anything on the bottom... they do open your purse but they don't go rummaging through it... or buy a cheap purse... make a rip in the side of it (the inside lining) and put stuff in there... haha!
Um just fork over the money for a day. There is NO WAY to eat cheap at Disney world. I do not believe that they will allow you to bring food in so. You eat or you don't
Rummage through the garbages, there are sure to be plenty of food from spoiled children there. hope this helps =)
