I'm trying out for Disney audition coming up! I'm an alto/2nd soprano and I need two songs both 16 bars. Any good recommendations? Or any songs I shouldn't sing? What songs should I sing for a Disney audition?
I think one of the most wonderful disney songs I've heared is the one in Hercules, I think the title is "the distance" or I think It's "to find where I belong" you could search and hear it yourself in youtube, It's a great song and whenever I hear it, I get goosebumps. the Lyrics goes like this:
..I can find my way, I can go the distance. I'll be there someday, somehow I'll be strong. I know every mile will be worth my while. I can go the distance 'til I find where I belong...
trust me, it's a great song. Good Luck!
colors of the wind or reflection for sureeee they're awesome if theyre sung right.
and don't sing any songs that depend a lot on background musicWhat songs should I sing for a Disney audition?
You should always sing a song that shows off your vocal range, no matter if its Disney or not.
However, may I suggest
Colors of the Wind, Pocahontas
Reflection, Mulan
Some of the Mary Poppins songs would probably be good choices. Also one of Jasmine's songs in Aladdin might be good or check out some of the songs Alice did in Alice in Wonderland. I think any material from one of those 3 movies would be a great choice. What songs should I sing for a Disney audition?
you should sing something disney that is not related to the show or movie you are auditioning for. Most people like to hear there own work.
When I was a kid I was a disney fanatic. I got "The Illustrated Treasury of Disney Songs" for a birthday, would play the piano and sing. I can email you the lyrics if you want or can't find them online. Here are some of my favorites!
"pretty Irish Girl" from darby o'gill and the little people
"a whale of a tale" from 20,000 Leagues under the sea
"Little April Shower" from bambi
"Baby Mine" from Dumbo
"when I see an elephant fly" from dumbo
"Someone's Waiting For You" from the rescuers
"Oo-De-Lally" from Robin Hood
"perfect isn't easy" from Oliver %26amp; Co
"the wonderful thing about tiggers" from winnie the pooh and the blustery day
"chim chim cher-ee" from mary poppins; has a lovely meloncholy stretch in it, requires more of a range than I ever had (as an alto)
"feed the birds" from mary poppins
"Circle of Life" from the Lion King
"so this is love (the cinderella waltz)"
as for songs you shouldn't sing, it depends on what this audition is for, you know? my instinct is to avoid the cheesier songs that *everybody* knows, like "under the sea", "when you wish upon a star", songs from the jungle book, etc. as well as the slower songs that may put ppl to sleep. I love the song "candle on the water" from Pete's Dragon but it's like a lullabye. these ideas could be way off cuz I've little idea of the context of your audition; go with *your* instincts.
good luck and have fun :)
