My little one starts school this fall, and I'm not going to pull her out of school for a week during her first school year for our annual Disney World trip. I'm already planning for our 2011 trip, and I am considering the last two weeks of May, the first two weeks of June or the first two weeks in August. Is there much difference in crowd levels between those times? Is it hotter/more rainy at any of those times over the others? Thanks for your input. When would be a better time to visit Disney World in terms of crowds?
The crowd levels between the two choices given is negotiable (crowds will be heavy both times). As far as the weather, you'll find a larger difference...May/June is still bearable with little rain. In August, the heat is brutal, with a heavy chance of t-storms almost daily (late afternoon). So if you're not able to go during the school year...choose the May/June option. Have fun!
My family has done the same thing several times. The first time i went to Disney World was before my first year in school. We went during the end of May and there wasn't much of a crowd. If you are looking to be in the crowded environment, June and July is the time with maximum crowd due to the fact that all schools are out. July probably has more thunderstorms compared to the other months. However, the temperature during July is also the hottest. The humidity levels are almost always the same. If I were you, I would definitely consider going in August or May rather than the months of peak crowds and hot weather.
Hope this helps! Enjoy the trip! When would be a better time to visit Disney World in terms of crowds?
The last two weeks of May will be crowded with people going for Memorial Day. The first two weeks of August will be most likely be the most humid time of the year. In my opinion, the first two weeks of June would be the best time to go. It will still be humid but not as humid as August and will still be crowded but not as crowded as May. I hope this was helpful and hope you guys have a fun time.
May. Lots of school systems don't get out until late May or early June, so May tends to be a great time to go. It's only around Memorial Day that the summer crowds start coming in. The first two weeks of June, the crowds will just get heavier and heavier every day. And the first two weeks of August is still the height of the summer season. The end of August the crowds start slowing back down.
Plus May weather tends to be the best out of these! When would be a better time to visit Disney World in terms of crowds?
I would suggest going either before or after the memorial day weekend. Do not go in August. It is horribly hot during that time, and there are a lot of crowds. First time I ever went was in June, and it wasn't nearly as hot as August. The crowds weren't to bad either. I pulled my son out of school for his 5th b-day in December, first week, and that was the best time. It only rained one day, and that was the day we arrrived. It wasn't hot, and the crowds were light.
Of all your choices I would chose end of May. The weather it not be as hot or rainy as June or August. Its just the start of the summer crowds. The Florida schools will all be out but the locals still tend to only go on the weekends. Its still going to be quite crowded and quite hot and you may see some summer rains but oversall you should be good.
The last 2 weeks of May would be the lest crowded and the best weather.
