I am going to disney next week, and I was hoping to find some money saving tricks. There will be 4 adults and 2 children ( 8 and 5) that are going. Heard there was a ticket package you could get that included your admission and lunch. What are some tips on getting more for my money at disney? Are there any package deals like food and admission
As others have said, there are packages that include hotel, tickets, and dining. You can go to disneyworld.com and compare options.
If you're going next week, it might be late to make dining reservations. You might want to see what's available before you spend money on the dining plan.
Other ways to save money ... We take breakfast foods and eat in our hotel room. We take snacks into the parks. We share a lot of snacks and meals, so we don't have to purchase one per person every time someone gets hungry! I think, but I'm not sure, that you can get a cup of water for free at the counter service restaurants; it's cheaper than bottled water or fountain soft drinks.

We always purchase the dinning plan and park hopper tickets, I have saved receipts and we have saved a small fortune each trip. Of course, you have to stay on Disney Property to do so. I would call ahead and try to get a character meal, for this age it would be a blast, get priority seating and keep your reservation number with you.
The dinning plan allows one dinning meal, one quick meal and a snack. The quick meals include meal, drink and dessert, snacks can include any thing from a drink to ice cream or pastry. We often use pastry for breakfast, especially at the Magic Kingdom Bakery.
The ticket package is called Magic Your Way with Disney Dining. It is the best option! It allows for your admission into the parks, plus 1 counter service, 1 sit down service, and 1 snack for everyone with that ticket for the whole length of your stay! I totally recommend it!!!!!What are some tips on getting more for my money at disney? Are there any package deals like food and admission
eat before you get there, disney's hamburger's are about $7 each not including a drink. so really adds up. good luck!
Here's what I do, though it probably doesn't apply to the vast majority of people, some might find it helpful.
1. I get an annual pass. Since I go for a 2 full weeks, then before it expires 11 months later I go for another 2 full weeks.
2. With my last pass I purchased the Disney Dining Experience. It's only available for passowners or residents of Florida. I believe the passowner rate is $65 now. With that card, for the full length of my annual pass I got 20% off of meals at a lot of the sit down meals (though some restaurants don't participate in it). It was $50 when I got it, and the first trip I made that up plus saved another $50 (I didn't track my savings on the 2nd trip). Though for me I always do lots of sit down meals so it didn't get me to spend more than I would have. (Kind of like how coupons only save you money if it is for something that you would have bought anyway).
The 'Dining Package' (not the Dining Experience) that most talk about you have to stay in the park to get. And it assumes a number of fast food eats %26amp; a number of sit down eats. Even if you are staying in the park, it's best to compare what that costs compared to what you would do without it. (Below I have the allears site link. Check out the dining section. Fairly up-to-date with prices for all places to eat).
Another trick is to choose lunch rather than dinner for the sit down meal. A lot of times the food is the same (or relatively the same) but cheaper. Though many of the best places (especially in the hotels) don't do lunch. Or choose a buffet. Germany in Epcot has a pretty good one (w/ entertainment, too). But my favorite buffet is the one at Boma, at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (not the Animal Kingdom Theme Park). $26 for each adult including everything (including dessert) except coffee, tea, and alcohol, and the food is great (African food, or some people have called it similar to American comfort food with African flavors). And if you eat there, you can get a look at the animals there without having to stay at that hotel.
Which leads to one more $$$ saving tip. Many of the top of the line Disney resorts can be enjoyed to a small degree by those who don't stay at them. You can walk the grounds, sit in the lobby (Grand Floridian has a live orchestra alternating with a live pianist for much of the day), shop at the stores %26amp; eat at the restaurants without paying the big bucks to stay there. 'Hotel hopping' is a good way to get away from the crowds for a while.
call disney and get the meal plan~~~
