How does Disney have a negative influence on litte girls?

Disney can have effects on little girls in ways of:

- believing you need a man to be happy

- you must be skinny and pretty (body image)

- you must be passive and quite to get the man

What is evidence of these points above in Disney movies? How does Disney have a negative influence on litte girls?
-facepalm-
It isn't the Disney princesses that have a negative influence on little girls, it's the Disney Channel shows and the stars that act in them! Also, if you actually watched the films {without just looking at the franchise} you will know that it's not about seduction, it's not about beauty, and its not about getting a man just to be happy. The princesses just fall in love, not purposely while looking after a man, but incidentally. Hun, just look at Hannah Montana- the show is partially centered on how you need a boyfriend {man} to be happy and that encourages younger girls to date when they are older {but still children} and the older girls to date at a young age. Also, off topic, but look at Shake It Up! Its about a bunch of sexualized 12 and 13 year olds. Bella Thorne disgusts me- she's around 12-13 years old and she has an 18 year old boyfriend and dresses like a prostitute. Disney is practically teaching them: "Hey little kiddies! Lets all be cool and seduce those hot boys in leather mini skirts!" Don't believe me? Look at this {the boyfriend isn't the one in the picture but the way she's dressed just sickens me. It looks like a child prostitute and a child pimp Dx}:

Now lets go on about the Disney Princesses.

Let's take Tiana for an example:
She didn't pay attention to her weight or her beauty, she didn't think she needed a man, all she wanted was to fullfill her lifelong dream of having her own resturant and to make her father {who died at war} proud. She wasn't even a princess to begin with. She didn't go after Prince Naveen and she didn't seduce him either. It was an incidental meeting. They didn't even like each other at first, when they helped each other when they needed to, he realized that he truly loved her for her personality and later on, she realized the same.
Now all the other princesses' had dreams and goals that they wanted to fullfill. In none of these movies, did they go out in makeup and trying to make them look pretty, starving themselves, trying to impress men. All of their dreams were for a logical reason besides men. Most of them have good and kind hearts and are a victim of some sort of unfair treatment. Disney puts the beauty in their hearts and souls on the outside so it mainly has to do with inner beauty and how they get rewarded. So its basically teaching girls {the true meaning behind Disney Princess movies) that if you have a good soul and inner beauty, no matter how hard the situation gets, you will always be rewarded with your the happiness you deserve. Before you open your mouth, stop looking at the appearance of the franchise and watch the movies as well as watch the Disney Channel shows and compare the two. Which teaches girls seduction more? I'd say the Disney Channel but you need to realize these things yourself. It all depends on your state of mind. How does Disney have a negative influence on litte girls?
I think the older Disney Princesses may have had a negative influence on little girls, but the newer Disney Princess actually have a good influence on girls.

Princesses like Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty were fairly inactive. Snow White and Sleeping Beauty both need a man to wake them up, and Cinderella needs one to save her from her life. In a way, I can see how this makes it seem like they need a man. Although, these stories were not Disney stories, but rather old Brothers Grimm fairytales. If Disney was maintaining accuracy, they really can't be blamed for that.

Modern day Disney Princesses like Tiana, Jasmine and Belle are a lot more active and independent. Jasmine actually doesn't want a man - she stands up for herself and refuses to marry someone she doesn't love. She changes how everything is done in her country. She is also a fighter, and helps Aladdin battle Jafar. Belle cares only about her father, and puts herself in danger to save him. She even sacrifices herself for his life. In the end, Belle is the heroine of the story. Tiana fights her way through a ton of adversity, working all the time to make money to achieve her dream. She eventually opens her own successful business. This is something I think would be an excellent influence on little girls.

I really think Disney has responded, and made more independent Princesses that little girls can look up to. If you want to look for evidence to the contrary, definitely look back to the older Disney Princess movies. Disney Princesses aren't nearly as bad of a negative influence today as things such as current pop %26amp; rap music, MTV, cell phones/texts, and many other things. How does Disney have a negative influence on litte girls?
It also distinguishes and labels certain human qualities and behaviour as feminine and masculine. For example, men are encouraged to act strong, powerful and the "protector" while women must play passive and naive roles.
