What is the best/worst section of Disney World?

I'm going to Disney in April and planning in advance--I have two teenage boys. I was wondering if there were two sections of Disney that we must check out. I've heard that--

Hollywood Studios is the worst

Epcot is for adults

Magic Kingdom is for little kids

Animal Kingdom is a zoo

My kids love thrill rides and were most excited about Hollywood Studios but we heard there isn't much to do there. We'd love your advice! What is the best/worst section of Disney World?
Well, when I was a teen, my two favorite parks were EPCOT and the Magic Kingdom... and they still are.

Disney's Hollywood Studios is fun, but there are only two real thrill rides - the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Both are a lot of fun, both are definitely thrilling, but besides those two rides, there's not a whole lot at the park that teens will thoroughly enjoy and appreciate. Although, the new Toy Story Mania ride is a lot of fun, too, especially for competitive teens.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is great. It's much, much more than just a zoo. You see all these exotic animals as if they were in their natural environment. It's not just like seeing a bunch of animals in captivity. Plus, the park has some great attractions, and more than Disney's Hollywood Studios. There's the Primeval Whirl, DINOSAUR, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris. I really love this park. Its a lot of fun for teens and the whole family.

EPCOT is my favorite park. In my opinion, it's the park that should appeal to teens more than any other. There' a lot of great rides, like Test Track, Mission: SPACE, Soarin', the Maelstrom, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Spaceship Earth, the Seas with Nemo %26amp; Friends. Plus, there's always a lot of stuff going on at EPCOT, the shops are the best, the dining's phenomenal. There's an aquarium where you can see all kinds of fish, dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, and manatees. Then there's all the pavilions at World Showcase representing different countries. It's really the best park.

Magic Kingdom is my second favorite park. It has a good selection of attractions that the entire family can enjoy. Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are great thrill rides. Mickey's PhilharMagic is the best 3D show at Walt Disney World. There's Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, Tomorrowland Speedway, the Haunted Mansion, Stitch's Great Escape, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Mad Tea Party... and then there's a bunch of "little kid rides," too.

I would visit EPCOT one day and the Magic Kingdom the next day. If you have a third day, go to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park in the afternoon and then Disney's Hollywood Studios in the evening. Or maybe even visit one of the water parks, Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. Typhoon Lagoon's my favorite, but both have a great selection of thrilling water park attractions.

So, hope I could help! Have a magical trip! 潞o潞
Im 15 and hollywood studios is my downright favorite, It has the tower of terror, and the rockin rollar coaster as thrill rides, but tons of INTENSE shows, and really cool things to see.

Epcot was pretty good, It really isnt a ride park so much as it is an amazing place to see and be.(and eat i might add)

Magic kingdom has probably the most thrill rides, with big thunder mountian railroad, splash mountain, and space mountain(which might still be closed bty) and plenty of others. Honestly none of the parks are truly "for little kids"

Animal kingdom does have everest, and a couple of other things. but is still agreat park.

remember... even the "not-so big" rides are absolutally amazing. from lelo and stich in magic kingdom(scared the crap out of me) to the indiana jones show(rip to the actor who died) in hollywood studios

Over all the first time(and only time) I went, amazed me. you will be surprised about how well done these parks really are

and MOST IMPORTANT!!! Dont forget about the water parks and the hotels, and you WILL NOT run out of stuff to do at ANY park. I swear...What is the best/worst section of Disney World?
There is 2 thrill rides at HS

Not much at Epcot for thrill rides but there is Mission Space which is really intense if you go on the spinning side I hear

Magic Kingdom has not so many thrill rides but theres still a lot of fun rides.

AK has Everest which is fun.
Oh no Hollywood Studios we had something to do the whole entire day, Epcot is probably the worst. Hollywood Studios has plenty of kid rides like my favorite 3D show The MuppetsWhat is the best/worst section of Disney World?
If both teens like more thrill rides maybe you should consider going to Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure instead of Disney.

VP
Here's my analysis of Disney World based on my personal experience as a Florida resident passholder.

You are correct about Hollywood Studios. Though they have two of the best rides in Disney World (Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror), there isn't much else there. The new stunt show that they recently opened in the back of the park is pretty cool though and worth checking out. It was also home to the worst attraction at Disney World, the Drew Carey Sounds Dangerous ride, where you sit in an auditorium in the dark listening to sound effects and gags through headphones for 15 minutes. Thankfully, that ride no longer exists.

It's a similar situation with Animal Kingdom. They also have two of the best rides in Disney World (Expedition Everest and Dinosaur), but there isn't much else there either. There are animals, but most of them are either on the safari ride or a walkthrough area in the Asia section. There aren't any really terrible rides here that stand out in my mind, though.

With Magic Kingdom, although the majority of the park has attractions catered to children, they have updated several of their more famous non-children-centric rides recently, which are definitely worth checking out. First, Pirates of the Caribbean has Jack Sparrow in the mix now (he wasn't part of the ride before the movies came out). Second, the Haunted Mansion has also been updated and they did a pretty decent job on that one (I'd say the creepiest part is the attic). Third, they just finished updating the Hall of Presidents by adding You-Know-Who. They are also in the process of refurbishing Space Mountain, which won't be finished until November. There aren't really any terrible rides here either.

In regards to EPCOT, they have the most state-of-the-art rides like Test Track, Mission: Space, and Soarin'. I agree that it's the best park for adults as they have large quantities of alcohol in the World Showcase section (my fiancee and I "drink around the world" when we go there). While there, you should avoid the Universe of Energy ride. It redefines boredom in a way previously unimaginable. Plus, with the fact that it's co-hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and the fact that the facade on the outside of the building is rainbow-colored, it's just begging to be made fun of. Journey into Imagination is pretty lame as well and so is the movie ride in the France section.

So, my plan of attack would be to go to Magic Kingdom one day, EPCOT the second day, and Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom together on the third day (this can be done if you only ride the handful of good rides at those two parks).

Hope this information helps.
i would recommend Universal Studios and/or Universal Studios: Islands of Adventure for your teenage boys. although, epcot isn't TOO adult. when you first walk in there is an amazing ride where you kind of look at the past and then go to the future. there is a separate Finding Nemo ride and also Mission: Space which is an amazing experience. it's almost realistic to taking off into space. those don't attain to the whole Epcot experience, which is where you visit all the sections that are themed for different countries. but most of them only have gift stores and restaurants. i think there are only 3, maybe 4 countries that have a ride, which aren't roller coasters and are just simple sit-down rides. they also offer these things called Fast Passes where you can reserve a spot in line to come back later at the specific time they give you. this can give you time to eat, do whatever, and then wait in line for 20 mins tops instead of 40 mins. but now to talk about universal studios.

in the regular universal studios, they have tons of rides based on movies. they have one where you get the experience of being near a tornado (from the movie Twister). one where you get on a boat and experience Jaws. another where you experience an earthquake. they have a great ride from The Mummy. they have the Men In Black Alien Attack ride. Shrek 4D which was a fun experience for all. a new thriller roller coaster they just opened this summer that plays rock music while you ride!

in universal studios: islands of adventure, you basically are on an island and have different sections as well. they have like a Comic Book section that has a few rides, a section for Marvel which has the Hulk ride (amazing) and a 3D Spider Man ride is in the park somewhere. they have a Dr. Seuss section for kids, Jurassic Park section which has a water ride and this other ride that is in the air, a Lost Continent section that has a Fury of Poseidon tour along with a great roller coaster, and a Toon Lagoon section which has a Pop-eye water ride.

Hope i helped! :)
