What do you do when its raining while staying at the Walt Disney World?

We are beginning intial planning for a trip to Walt Disney World. We are hoping to stay right on site at one of WDW's resorts. However, what do you if its pouring rain for a day? Are the parks even open? Are you stuck at your resort? What do you do when its raining while staying at the Walt Disney World?
are you seriously asking the exact same question you asked under a different profile a few days ago?

well you're gonna get the exact same answer:

you do what you would do if it was nice and sunny out.

no the parks don't close just cuz its raining.

they will shut down the outdoor rides if its raining or if there is a threat of lightening but there are TONS of attractions INDOORS that remain open.

the only thing you'll have to deal with is how not to get wet when walking from one attraction to another. for that just make sure you bring or buy a rain poncho (you can get one from walmart for about $4 or at the parks for about $8. the ones at the parks are better quality and will hold up better so i do suggest getting them from the parks).

also pack extra socks and 2 pairs of sneakers. this way when one pair of sneakers gets wet you have another pair to wear while that pair drys out in your room.

even if you don't go to the parks that day hanging out at your hotel doesn't feel like you are "stuck" there cuz there are plenty of things to do. there's at least one gift shop at every hotel. plus there's a food court and an arcade. and the hotels are big so you don't feel cooped up.

and besides depending on WHEN you go you may not get any rain at all. you are more likely to get rain if you go during summer and less likely to run into rain during late fall/winder time.
We braved the rain and stayed at the park. Be sure to bring an extra pair of shoes in case they get soaked. If you don't want to walk around in the rain you can use that opportunity to go and tour all of the other Disney resorts. Go have lunch at another resort or a drink at their bar. I make it a point to visit a few other resorts on every trip. Disney does an amazing job with themeing, and it makes for a great soggy afternoon. What do you do when its raining while staying at the Walt Disney World?
The parks are open during rain, no matter how bad.

What is great about rainy days is if you are well-prepared with coats and umbrellas, the parks can actually be quite enjoyable, magical even. All the lines are short and the parks are almost barren.

Fireworks always continue in the rain, and IllumiNations in pouring rain was the most wonderful thing I have ever seen.

hope this helped :)
Go to Magic Kingdom when it's raining! The stroller pack (little kids and such) aren't there because they don't wanna deal with the rain. Most of Magic Kingdoms rides are inside, so there's no problems riding them. As for the outside rides...simply wait for a break in the rain to go on them. I've found that on days when it's raining, there is literally no one at the park! What do you do when its raining while staying at the Walt Disney World?
tI usually doesn't rain all day long. Like Indiana said, it rains a lot in the Summer.

If it starts to rain, just wait it out. It usually stops after an hour and then a lot of people will have left.
lightening might be the only thing to damper your fun. i always recommend light weight rain gear. rain and wind proof. so if it rains the show must go on
It rains a lot in Orlando, but never for long. We go into the stores or see a show inside. There are lots of inside rides too.
