Is it possible to get from Disney World to the beach for a day? How far is it and is there public transportation? How far is it from Disney World to the beach?
There is no public transportation from Orlando to the beaches. It's too far.
But it's an easy drive if you have a rental car. The closest Atlantic ocean beach is only 60 miles (one hour) away. The closest Gulf beach is about 90 miles away.
Both are an easy drive and a great way to spend a day away from the mouse.
There are beaches in Walt Disney World at the Polynesian Village and the Grand Floridian. If you're talking about going to the beaches in Tampa/St. Petersburg on the Gulf of Mexico side or Melbourne on the Atlantic side you're looking at a drive of about an hour and a half either way (and no, they don't have public transportation -- you'd have to rent a car). How far is it from Disney World to the beach?
The Best beach is New Smyrna Beach and its 1 hour 30 mins drive. We have been there many times and we use Southeast Transportation company they are good, nice and clean cars also rates are the best if you compare to other taxi companies in orlando. if I'm right their websire is : southeasttaxi.com check their rates. Have fun
The Atlantic beaches are much closer - Cocoa Beach from Disney should be just under one hour.
Clearwater Beach (gulf) is a good two hours from Disney - depending on the traffic.
Some people also like the water parks rather than the trip to the beach. How far is it from Disney World to the beach?
