How do the performers in those Disney Character costumes see where they're going?

The actors or performers who spend all day in character costumes must have a high tollerance for being overworked and overheated, especially those life-sized Disney Characters. With all that dancing and walking around that they do, how in the world do the performers in those costumes manage to see where they're going? So far, I've never heard about them knocking people over, or crashing into things. I'm sure it gets quite hot and stuffy in those costumes when they have to work. How do the performers in those Disney Character costumes see where they're going?
most costumes have a mesh screen for vision; similar idea around murals you see on some truck windows. the mesh is the same color as the costume, so can't be easily seen. characters also have an escort that follows along with them, for sight as well as security.
