How much would you budget for food at Disney world per day?

We have a trip to Disney world, Air fare, hotel (in the park) and tickets. This is already paid for. But for a family of 5 (2 adults, and 3 kids ages 12, 9, and 6) how much would you budget for food per day for 7 days? I've been told $100/day. But I honestly don't think that's enough. How much would you budget for food at Disney world per day?
If u r staying @ a disney resort, then you have the option of the disney dining plan. When I went in 2005, I didnt have it so we stuck to the hotel and counter service meals. Those types of meals got old real fast (burgers, pizza, baked chicken) This year I got the dining plan and I am making advanced reservations. I can't wait to try out the different restaurants I have picked. So, for about $134 dollars a day (see below quote), you get two meals and a snack. W/out the plan -if you average $15 per overpriced entree - then you are looking at $150 per day w/out drinks, or snacks. If u go off property, u r missing fun and paying extra gas.......

Good luck and have fun!

"Details of the 2008 Disney Dining Plan for Walt Disney World have recently been released. The Dining Plan will cost $37.99/day for those aged 10 and above and $9.99/day for children ages 3-9 (which is a dollar less per day than the 2007 plan.) The DELUXE Dining Plan will cost $69.99 for those aged 10 and above and $19.99 for children ages 3-9."
We are going in may. I kinda have the same question as you but I went to http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm looked at the menus. We are eating breakfast in our hotel room, we are eating dinner out of the park or in our hotel room. I was going to bring bottles of water and granola bars in the park with us for snacks so I was budgeting about 50 for lunch and 50 for the rest of the day. Oh yes family of five also. kids ages 4, 6, 8How much would you budget for food at Disney world per day?
If you eat all your meals on the Disney lot you will probably have to spend more like $200 for 3 meals and drinks a day.

If you have a car you could go out and eat some of your meals away from the Disney lot (there are loads of places on the 192).

The secret is to have a good breakfast before you go to set you up for the day then you will only need a snack or an ice cream at lunchtime.

Prices for food aren't particularly over the top at Disneyworld but a family of 5 could easily spend say $60 just on lunch at an average priced place like the Tomorrowland Terrace on a burger and salad with a drink.

If you want to save money don't buy sodas at the park - use the water fountains instead (better for you too !)
I'm sorry but the way that I figure it, if you are willing to spend that much , just get the Dining Plan. For your family it would be $134 per night. Now you would have to leave a tip on the table service meal so add about another $20 per day.

But with the dining plan, you get a counter service meal, a table service meal and a snack per person per night. I was just looking at this for my family the other night. If you are planning to eat at any of the fixed price locaions - like a character meal or buffets, you can really come out ahead by using the plan. Plus you don't have to worry about the cost of food "during" your vacation, because it is already all paid for ahead of time.

Now, I would only use the plan if you will actually make the reservations for the table service restaurants - and do so way ahead of time. If you do not have reservations before yuor vacation, it will be very hard to use those table credits.

Have a wonderful time. How much would you budget for food at Disney world per day?
Hey there. To be honest i wouldnt really bother buying food inside, its a joke how much they charge. Your better off getting some food before hand and taking it in with you. Just a small picnic will do.

However if you do want to spend money in the park on food then id suggest 120 dollars roughly, becuase the kids will want drinks throught the day etc. I hope you have a lovely time, i loved it when i went over there. Its alot sunnier than here (Uk) ;).

The cheapest way to go on food inside the Disney parks is to eat at the counter-service restaurants. This is your burger, pizza, chicken fingers kind of places. Which with kids, is actually where they will probably want to eat anyway. You can usually figure on $10 a person, per meal at these places. There are kids' meals options that are cheaper. So in my opinion, even if you eat cheaply, $100 is a little on the low side. I would plan on at least $150, $200 would probably be better and give you a little more leeway. Don't forget as you walk through the parks your kids are going to want popcorn, a Mickey ice cream bar, etc., too. Eating at your hotel may save a few bucks over what you will find in the park. If you are going to eat any sit-down meals, it will cost significantly more - plus, you need to get a reservation.

You might like to look here: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

This site lists all the menus at all the restaurants, the parks and the hotels. You might want to look through them and come up with a list of good places that your family will like to eat at to carry with you on your trip. Plus, you can see all the prices and tell a little better about how much it's going to cost you.

I'm assuming you will be eating all your meals inside the parks, which you may not do. If you can eat breakfast in your hotel (if you have a kitchen, for example) you can eat cheaper than what I have said.
