third: you plan to go for 74 DAYS?!?!?!?!?!?!?! REALLY?

give me some info so i can try to help you out here.

-what disney?

-how many days?

-how many people? and everyone's age

-WHEN exactly?

-what hotel are you thinking about staying in?

-what type of tickets are you thinking about getting?

-do you want a dining plan? if so which one?

**edit**

Disney World is expensive.

What you pay for hotel accommodations and what crowds you encounter will vary greatly, depending on when you visit, whether or not you stay within Walt Disney World resort or not.

If you stay within WDW, you will pay a lot more, and be able to have a more enjoyable, efficient, time doing the total Disney experience.

Four days is a good time to see a lot, especially if you stay on Disney property and save the time of commuting from outside. You can't see everything, don't tease the 3 year-old by telling she see things there is no time to see.

Umm...err...I hope the three year-old is potty trained.

Listen to lots of Disney 'pod-casts', like these.

Well, which Disney Park are you going to? Walt Disney World, or Disneyland Anaheim? Or are you planning on going out of country?

If you are going to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, you do not need a passport. When you say 74 days do you mean you are staying in a hotel for 74 days or that you are going to be gone for 74 hours?

We need some further details to help you figure out prices. But, since you asked how much we spend on our Disney vacation mine is going to be around $900.00
Okay if you are coming from NY we can figure that you are talking about Walt Disney World in Florida, as when people think there is only one they think about the one closest to them. Although the "I don't even have a passport" really throws that into confusion because it is still in the US and if you are flying as long as you have a State Issued ID you are fine and wouldn't even need a passport.

Basically there are a lot of factors to determine cost.

Travel - How are you getting there? Plane, Car, Train? If you are taking the car it really does not matter when you go, but you need to account for the gas and probably at least one overnight stop, and with a 4 year old you are probably looking at two overnight stops each way. If you go by plane it depends on how far in advance, the route, and the airline as to the fare. The sooner you book it the more of a chance you have of getting a better deal.

When - That is when you are going. If you go when kids are mainly in school you are going to pay less than if you go during the peek holiday or vacation periods.

Lodging - Are you staying On(at a Disney Reort) or Off(Surrounding Area) Property. Also, what "level" of lodging do you want. You can get rooms for around $100 a night in the Resort, but they could also go up to several hundred dollars per night at the higher level resorts. "On Property" will generally be more expensive, but you get a few additional perks. Such as free transportation to Disney World so you don't need a car, you can take advantage of their Extra Magic Hours which gets you more time in the parks, and you can get a dining plan which may save you money.

Meals - If you are not doing a meal plan, you need to plan on pricing it to how much you would spend "eating out" for the time you are there. That is do want more "fast food" type food or sit-down resturants. You also need to figure if you want any Character Dining experiences.

Tickets - They price the tickets based on how many days you are going to go, with the more days you buy the cheaper you pay PER DAY. The "Base" ticket includes 1 park per day and expires 14 days after the date of the first use. They have other options such as the "Park Hopper" where you can go to more than 1 park per day(for every day your ticket is valid). The Water Parks Fun and More option gives you admissions to the two water parks, as well as Disney Quest. The No Expiration Option makes it so the tickets do not expire. So if you buy 4 days and only use 3 that 4th day will be valid forever. However this is the one option that is generally fairly high(in comparison) so I generally do not reccomend it unless you plan to go back often.

All of these factors have a huge influence on the cost, and could turn a $1200 vacation into a $4000 vacation real quick.

It would probably be to your advantage to go to the WDW travel site and plug in some dates you were looking at. You can then see the loging and other options to get a good idea of the cost.
