How far in advance can I make ressies at Disney resort?

We are planning on going to Disney World, how far in advance can I make resort reservations? How far in advance can I make ressies at Disney resort?
You can make resort reservations up to 2 years in advance in some cases, but in most I would say 1 year in advance is good. Keep in mind that you won't know the actual price of your trip until much later than that. The new prices are posted for the upcoming year around the end of August, beginning of September. Before I joined the Vacation Club I made my reservations about a year in advance. I gave them the $200 deposit, then made payments on the trip each month, keeping track of the receipts. By the time the prices were out, we we well on our way to having everything paid off. It is a great idea for people on a budget who want to get the whole Disney experience.

A few things I would recommend/ keep in mind when making your arrangements:

Stay on property, no matter what. Many people make reservations on property then find some "great deal" off property, and end up kicking themselves. You asked about Disney resorts, so you already have the right idea. The perks are worth any extra you will pay, which isn't much. Disney has a resort for every budget.

Add the park hopper option to your passes. Most people figure the base ticket is good enough. However, the base ticket only allows you to go to one park on one day. We have always add the park hopper just so we have the option if we want it. We like to go to one park during the day, then go to a different one for the night time show or a few different rides. It just gives you the ultimate in flexibility.

Here are a couple of sources that I always use when making our plans. First, www.waltdisneyworld.com is the main website. Tons of info, including a resort comparison tool, dining finder, and attraction guide. Next, check out the disboards at www.disboards.com. The disboards is a message board website devoted to people going to WDW. I am a Disney veteran but I found more info than I could imagine here before our last visit in April. There is a restaurant review section, resort reviews, opinions, tips and tricks, and much more. Finally, pick up the Birnbaum's guide to WDW. I know there are tons of guide books out there, but this is the one that I have found works best for us.

Have a great trip and have fun planning!
from a day to years in advance.my cousin book theres a year ahead of time..better dealsHow far in advance can I make ressies at Disney resort?
The more far in advance you book, the better off you will have a chance of getting what you want. One year we booked at the Boardwalk and it hadn't even opened for business yet!! In fact we stayed there the first week it opened. A year in advance should be plenty though.
Getting the hotel you want, room specifications you need is not as difficult as people may think. Meals on the other hand disappear quickly. You can make dinner reservations 6months in advance and it is strongly suggested you do so. Last year we planned a trip in During Thanksgiving, I made reservations 6months in advance and got all my first choices. Two months later two friends decided to join us and we could not find a single reservation on Thanksgiving day for four. That was four months ahead.

Back to your resort, the value resorts fill up quickly, the moderate ones do also. I have never stayed in one of the more costly, but my understanding is that they are more flexible.

Good Luck and have fun, wish we were returning this year. How far in advance can I make ressies at Disney resort?
As soon as you want.

Have fun!

P.S. If you have children don't forget to do a character breakfast.
you can make them whenever you want, i would reccomend about up to a year in advance if you make sure you get what you want!
