Thanks in advance! How do you keep digital cameras safe at Disney World?
There are NOT lockers at disney by the water rides.
I understand your conundrum. I always wrestle with which camera to buy. It does seem to come up more often with digital cameras. They really seem to last about 4-5 years. Every time I wonder if I should get a nice big one, or a little one that will fit in my pocket.
All of that aside, I have never had a problem at Disney with just keeping it in a case of some kind. If it makes you feel better, throw in a zip lock and put it around the camera, and then put the camera in the case when you do water rides.
Have fun. Wish I was going too.
there are many new cameras out that are slim and small and have a good zoom. I bought good zip lock bags for our cameras for the water rides. we had no trouble with them getting banged up. My son kept his in his cargo pants pocket. How do you keep digital cameras safe at Disney World?
Have you considered, a cheap disposable camera? They actually take pretty good pictures %26amp; you don't have to worry about getting the wet. Film might be old fashion, but it still works. When you get it developed you can get them printed %26amp; on disc. If you do take your own camera, bring along a zip lock bag to keep it dry on the water rides. A zip lock is also a good place for glasses %26amp; key while spinning around Space Mountain.
As stated a zip-lock bag can work to keep things dry. But if your looking for something with a little more protection from water you might also check out a dry sack from an outdoor camping and hiking store like REI. These sacks are great for keeping stuff dry and protected. My camera and cell phone have been saved on many a canoe or back-packing trip by a dry sack.
There are many option and sizes available here is one I just found on the REI website. http://www.rei.com/product/800889How do you keep digital cameras safe at Disney World?
ohh things are totaly safe at disney.you just have to have a case for your camera.also there are lockers there so if you go on a water ride.
We have a Sony Cyber-shot. It has been on three Disney World trips and one Disneyland trip. We have it in a nice padded case and it's still in excellent condition.
I'm a photographer %26amp; I always take my Nikon D40 with me (it's a $600+ camera) %26amp; I have never had a problem taking it to Disney (I go once every 3 to 4 months due to having family work there). If I go on a waterride, I will put it in my waterproof bookbag %26amp; then take it out when I'm done. Keep a ziplock bag with you that your camera will fit into, if you dont have a waterproof bookbag/backpack. Put it in there when getting on rides. That should help.
Canon have brought out a feature in their range "image stabilized zoom". You can also buy a underwater camera housing which will definently help keep your camera dry-not only on the rides but if you are out and about and exposed to moisture.
