I never found a site that gave exact times but reading reviews can help alot. Check out www.allearsnet.com and also www.tripadvisor.com type in the name of the restraunt and it will pull up a bazillion reviews and photos etc. We just went to Disney in April and did the dining plan so I did a lot of research on them.
We went to Boma and it took about an hour and a half to two hours
Prime time cafe 1 hour or less
Crystal Palace 1 1/2 hour depending on how much time you spend with the charachters
Liberty Tree Tavern 1 1/2 to 2 hours (our personal favorite)
Hoop Dee Doo musical review 3 hours part of that including time waiting for the boat. (this is an awesome meal and show!)
Make sure you have reservations!
Well you have to be there 20 min early and then it takes about an hour and a half to eat. Last time we had a 9 day trip and we spent most of our trip eating because of reservations and being places on time and then spending time with character dining and buffets. Dining plan is very time consuming, but it is fun, I will give it that. You can call 1-407-wdw-dine and ask them or join www.intercot.com. It is a free discussion about Disney and these ladies and gentlemen on here are disney veterans and can help you with just about anythingHas anyone seen a site that lists the amount of time it takes to eat table service meals at Disney?
it depends what restaurant you go to, it depends how busy the park is. they can't give you an exact time. for example last time i went to the cyrstal palace which had characters and a buffet so we stayed longer. or we ate inside cinderellas castle and they did a little show and that took about an hour and a half. take into mind that every person gets thier own appetizer, meal, and desert. you really shouldn't be any longer than an hour. some places we were done in 30-45 minutes. just enjoy it. the restaurants are part of the expierience. i've had some of the best food in my life at disney world. the restaurants are one of my favorite parts of disney because it really is an expierience, it's not like you're just going to applebees or something.
just make reservations. if you don't make reservations theres a big chance you may not eat at a certain restaurant. the last time i went was last year on the week of july fourth, and i made all of my reservations in may.
I don't know of any site that lists this type of info, since it varies so much per person. However, I usually eat pretty fast in a sit-down, and I still can't seem to get out in less than an hour. If you are going to do the whole appetizer, meal, dessert thing, you are probably looking at closer to 2 hours. Especially in a character restaurant the time will be increased, because you will spend time interacting with them.Has anyone seen a site that lists the amount of time it takes to eat table service meals at Disney?
I would say once you are seated, an hour to an hour and half. But there was only 3 of us and we don't linger over meals. No drinking, no coffee afterwards.
As has been stated, it really depends on the restaurant and how busy things are. Even with reservations you may end up waiting. The official policy is that they will not guarantee you a table at the time of your reservation. If things are busy you may wait.
When we eat at the California Grill, it often takes 2 hours or more, but that's partly because the meal is served in courses and we take time to enjoy the fireworks, etc.
Also, you have to consider travel time. Unless you plan carefully, you may have to move from one park to another or from a park to a resort. All that can really consume a lot of time.
That's one of the reasons we don't like doing the dining plan. Table service meals really "eat up" a lot of your park time. We prefer to do fewer sit down meals throughout the week and make them more special and at the nicer restaurants.
Also, the restaurants have become so crowded most times of the year that you have to make reservations 180 days in advance if you want to eat at a normal dinner time at places like Le Celier or California Grill or Cinderella's Royal Table. Since I don't like to plan my trips out 6 months in advance I stay away from the Dining plan now. So we generally do table service meals on non-park days unless it's an in-park restaurant that we really want to go to. (Most of our favorites are not.)
