Absolutely.
Disney are one of the most litigious corporations out there and jealously guard their copyrights.
Using their copyrighted work for commercial work is a definite no no.
Yes this would be an infringement of CopyrightDo I need permission to use disney backdrops in my photography company?
Yes you would.
Also get written permission. companies normally let you use their stuff if you ask nicely and explain why you need it etc.
I had to do a project on chocolate for food technology so i asked permission from Cadburies to use their logos etc within my project and they sent me loads of information as well as free felt pens :)
Ahem... There is no way Disney would let you use their work in your photography, you may be able to license such work, but be sat down when you find out how much that'll cost.
My advice, forget about it!Do I need permission to use disney backdrops in my photography company?
You would need permission, it might be expensive as Michael said, but it won't hurt to contact them and find out!
Certainly Yes. Using anything without their permission will be infringement of their intellectual property rights - which in normal parlance is called Copyrights.
If you wish to use it for non-commercial purpose, they might allow you. But if it is commercial, they would certainly ask for a Royalty. And Please do not try to use anything with written permission - Copyright acts are very strong. If you think you can get away without anybody noticing, it is like murder, one can get away, but if caught... you can imagine the penalty. Beter safe than Sorry!
Yes, you would and your not likely to get it without paying a fortune to Disney.
If they're copyrighted, yes -- you need either permission or to pay a licensing fee. "Copyright" simply mean "the right to copy." Who has the right to copy your creative work? You do, or people whom you allow to, or people who pay you for the right.
