How much do you think meals at Disney World would cost in this scenario?

10 days at Disney World

Staying at Disney All Stars Movies

2 adults

4 children (ages 2, 4, 6, and 7)

Keep in mind we will not be dining at fancy restaurants and will probably go light for lunch. So how much money should we bring to cover all those meals for 10 days? Thanks for the input. How much do you think meals at Disney World would cost in this scenario?
It depends how many snacks you're going to have and what you and your kids decide to order.

Go to allears.net and click on dining and then on the left side there will be a menus link. They have ever resort food court and restaurant inside Disney World along with their menus and the cost of each item. This would probally help give you a good idea of how much it's going to cost you.

EDIT

Yes, you can bring snacks, lunch and drinks with you into the parks. The only thing they won't allow you to bring in is anything in a glass bottle, they will make you throw it away. They used to have strict rules on bringing in food from outside the parks but now they don't mind. Some people even bring in small coolers and rent a locker for the day to keep it in there. They will check all of your bags when going into the park but you have nothing to worry about if you bring anything in. Have fun!
First let me make this suggestion - don't go light at lunch - lunches are cheaper - go light at dinner.

When I went to WDW I paid an extra fee at All star sports (think it might be included now) I also had a car - so I went to a grocery store and got cereal, fruit, bottled water, milk, lunch meat, and breakfast bars. That way - we could do breakfast early - and bring a snack bar and water bottle along. We came back to the hotel to rest in the afternoon and either ate at the food court - OR ate before we left the park at about 1:00. We went back to the park around 3 or 4 more refreshed and sometimes ate a sandwich on the bus.

In any event - try to plan 1 character meal (I prefer the breakfast). Then I would budget 20/day for adult and 10/day for kids esp if you have some fruit, nibblers, cereal to munch on later on if you are light eaters. If you prefer fancier fare - you will probably end up with 40/per adult and 20/kid. Which I really think is way to much but - people like different things.

Have a magical day Be sure you sign up for the Photo program they have then you can be sure that you will have photos with ALL of you in ALL of them - which is nice.

You could pack PB and microwave popcorn bags for a cheap snack. How much do you think meals at Disney World would cost in this scenario?
You can bring snacks and lunches into the park, no bottles, no alcohol, no huge coolers. Tripadvisor.com for more info on these questions.

Keep in mind, if you eat at WDW, even the counter meals are fairly large, we often split an entree between adults and have plenty. This leaves room for pineapple whip, turkey legs, funnel cakes, berries and cream, etc. If the kids are agreeable, split an entree between two of them or an adult and one of them and then two of the smallest kids to save some money.
Since you're staying, have you thought about the dining plan?

We got the Deluxe and ate 3 full meals a day and had plenty of snacks. For me, it was easier than trying to budget, (there are 8 of us).

It seemed expensive when we were paying for it ahead of time, but then when we got to WDW and could eat so many wonderful foods and have so many character meals it was worth it. We only had to worry about having the money for the gratuity, since we had prepaid with our hotel. How much do you think meals at Disney World would cost in this scenario?
sounds like your driving or renting a car while at disneyworld. if your flying into the orlando airport take part of disney's magical express and you'll save $$$ by not having to rent a car. disney buses take you to and from the airport to your resort and they'll pick up your luggage for you to. also, i'm sure you know disney buses take you to the parks from your resort, saving you on gas and parking fees.

you are able to take your own snacks into the parks...i recommend you purchase disney's basic dining plan. the 2yr old is allowed to share your food, but you get a breakfast or lunch, a snack, a dinner at any themed restaurant/buffet of your choice for one great price per day!!
Disney is expensive for everything. They are a little city, they actually have a "Disney Tax" on hotel rooms and stuff. With kids that little you will be suckered into buying all sorts of stuff. Meals are above average, plan on $10 per person. Try driving off Disney into Kissimmee - they have really cool (cheaper) things to do that my kids loved! Gatorland and Old Town were a huge hit with the kids (and adults for OldTown). Plus there are normal restaurants around that are average priced (like Pizza Hut, fast food places, Chilis, Fat Boys BBQ, and a bunch of local fav's.

have a good time, wish I was going!
I would guess $2,800 depending where you eat at Disney World but you can save money with a Disney Dining Plan

This estimate is based on my personal assumption of:

Adults :

Breakfast - $10

Lunch - $20

Dinner - $30

X 2 adults X 10 days - $1,200

Children :

Breakfast - $10

Lunch - $15

Dinner - $15

X 4 children X 10 days - $1,600

adults + children = $2,800
go to web site below for all disney menus and prices. you may want to do a disney dining plan. there is one now that is just counter service meals
Do the dining plan, I just got back last week and we ate like kings and it cost is $300 a person and I think $100for kids under 10 for the week. Have fun we stayed at the movies hotel too, it's a blast!!
for fast food type restaurants you will pay $10 per meal per person.

**EDIT**

yep you can bring drinks. they have to be in plastic bottles (can only be glass if it is a baby bottle or jar of baby food) you can also bring juice boxes. you cannot bring in aluminum cans.

you can bring things like water, soda, juice.... just nothing alcoholic.

and yes you can bring snacks as well such as chips, cheese crackers, granola bars, cereal bars, pretzels.

you cannot bring in anything that needs to be heated or refridgerated. and you can't bring in anything that needs to be prepared. so you can't bring in a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, a jar of jelly, and a knife. BUT you CAN bring a premade peanut butter and jelly sandwhich in a baggie.

my suggestion would be to either bring breakfast from home (cereal, pop tarts....) or eat at the hotel dining area. and be sure to buy the $12 refillable mug from the all stars resort. you can use it as many times as you want in the dining area.

and pack a lunch for the park such as a sandwhich. and bring some snacks and drinks to the parks as well.

and maybe buy a snack like ice cream while at the park.

then eat at a quick service (fast food) restaurant for dinner.
Get the Disney dining plan. SO worth it.
